Meru's on the Naughty List


Well, I've finally fixed the issue with waifus that has been present since I updated from Unity 2019 to 2020. And with that fix comes the ability to finally publish updates to the game. This most recent update comes with a long list of squashed bugs as well as quite a few new stocking options for the changing room. On top of that, you'll also notice that the game now remembers any customization made to the waifu and automatically loads the most recent configuration anytime you swap modes or open the game. A card for Kiko has been added to the Waifu Share section of the discussion board for anyone who wants access to the original configuration used for photo shoot mode as well. Lastly, I've also added Meru to the same section of the discussion board as well as a school uniform version of Marin so that you can download both waifu cards and load them into the game.





The first major update I'll cover here focuses on breast physics. Tops now affect the gravity and other forces applied to breasts in a more realistic way; you may recall that this feature existed several iterations ago, but modifications to how the waifu prefab was constructed to make room for new features ended up breaking this system. I've now gone back and fixed all the issues, and breast physics are now more realistic than ever before. Each top has its own setting for how much it will affect the physics of the breasts, and each cup size is works in tandem with these settings to ensure realism regardless of chosen combinations.

Finally, I've pushed a major update to how the waifu's head and eyes stay locked on the camera. There are now multiple settings available on my end for controlling what the waifu looks at and where there is any randomization added to keep them from staring blankly at the target. You cannot currently modify what modes are used (right now you are limited to turning the systems on/off), but I plan to add some UI elements soon that will give you more control over things in the future. 


This new system was difficult for one major reason: since waifu eyes are in an anime style, they are not spherical like the eyes of a more realistic human character would be. Due to this, I cannot simply rotate the sphere that would represent their eyes as one would normally do; I need to use blend shapes to shift the position of their irises manually. So, I essentially had to build an eye contact mechanic from the ground up. This has always been a feature in this game but some of you may have noticed in the past that drastic angles would result in very unrealistic positioning of the irises and would sometimes even cause the iris to stick out of the side of the waifu's head; these issues have all been fixed and are already being leveraged for the prologue that I am current working on.

In other news, I've made a lot of progress with the upcoming prologue. I'll save these new updates for the next devlog but you can expect the new post to be ready before the end of the year.
